Our recommendations:



The nearest restaurant is Skeabost House Hotel which is about 3 miles away and has its own 9 hole golf course with beautiful sea views.

Old Schoolhouse Rest in Dunvegan offers lots of local food e.g. venison, beef, lamb and sea food such as lobster. Need to book as very busy. 17 miles approx.

The Three Chimneys as a treat - quite expensive but it is one of the top 30 in the world. 21 miles approx.

Stein Inn in Waternish supposed to be Skye's Oldest hostelry. Cheap and cheerful good alround food. 17 miles approx.

Lochbay Seafood Rest in Waternish great for fresh seafood. 17 miles approx.

Portree the islands capital has lots of various places to eat :

Bosville Hotel

Caledonian Cafe - don't be put off by the Cafe bit as the food is fantastic and reasonably priced. Harbour View - great sea food / we went last year and I'm not a vegetarian but had mushroom pie and it was just fabulous !!!

Lower Deck Seafood Restaurant.

Tongadale Hotel

Sea Breezes.

These are all about 7 miles away.

Further a field we have Plockton Shores which we also went to last year and it was fab !!. Plockton Inn they say is also very good. 50 miles approx.

In the South end of the island we have the award winning Duisdale Hotel, Toravaig House Hotel and Kinloch Hotel the latter owned and run by Lady Claire MacDonald with her head chef being Marcello Tully. They are in the region of 43 miles away.
